CONTENT:

First Impression is the best impression
The initial step in starting a conversation is your greeting. It may be either in face to face meet or telephone conversation. This will be the first impression a new person will have about you when you speak with them. So it is very important to use the appropriate greetings for different situations. The other important thing is how you respond to the greetings of others.

There are two types of greetings.
  • The formal is more polite and also if you don't know the person.
  • The Informal is used when talking to friends / known people.
FORMAL GREETINGS:
Use the following salutations to start a formal conversation in any of these situations.

Good Morning / Good Afternoon / Good Evening

These formal ways of greeting people are used at different times of the day.
The greetings depending on the time of the day.
  • “Good morning” is generally used from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • “Good afternoon” is appropriate for a period from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • “Good evening” is often used after 6 p.m. or when the sun goes down.
  • “Goodnight” is not a salutation. Informal communication, it is used to say goodbye.

This is one of the respectful greeting to someone when you meet for the very first time

  • This is used when meeting someone for the first time and is very formal.
